Sandvesanden

Located at Sandve north of Skudeneshavn, Sandvesanden is one Karmøy's finest beaches. Compared to Åkrasanden Beach, Sandvesanden is a small, enclosed area bordered on the north and south by high sloping rocks.

The beach faces west with good bathing conditions and no particularly strong currents. However, bathers should always be aware of the currents contained in the waves that roll in over the beach and retreat out again.

The area in which Sandvesanden is located is rich in plant life, with many shapes, colours and scents. The vegetation around the beach is pure joy for plant enthusiasts. Visitors are recommended to bring a reference book in order to tread carefully and study the diversity of flora found here. This is also a novel way of introducing children to coastal nature.
